Responsibilities and Procedures for Property Damage

  • Damaged equipment or appliances

3. Responsibility

Individuals occupying or using the premises are responsible for ensuring the proper use and care of the property. This includes:

  • Using fixtures, furnishings, equipment, and appliances as intended

  • Avoiding actions that may cause damage to the property

4. Reporting Damages

Any damage to the property must be reported immediately to the employee at the front desk. The report should include:

  • A detailed description of the damage

  • The time and date the damage occurred

  • Any relevant circumstances or events leading to the damage

5. Assessment of Damages

Upon receiving a report of damage, the property manager or designated authority will:

  • Inspect the damage

  • Determine the cause of the damage

  • Assess the extent of the damage and estimate repair costs

6. Liability and Compensation

If the damage is determined to be due to inappropriate use or negligence, the responsible individual(s) will be liable for:

  • The full cost of repairs or replacement of damaged items

  • Any additional costs incurred due to the damage (e.g., labor, materials)

7. Payment

The responsible individual(s) will be required to:

  • Pay for the damages within 30 days from the date of assessment

  • Payments can be made via cash, check or credit card.

8. Consequences of Non-Compliance

Failure to report damages or pay for assessed damages within the specified timeframe may result in:

  • Additional penalties or fees

  • Legal action to recover the costs

  • Restriction or termination of access to the property

9. Appeals

Individuals who believe the damage assessment is unfair or incorrect may submit an appeal in writing to the property manager or designated authority within 14 days of the assessment. The appeal should include:

  • A detailed explanation of the reasons for the appeal

  • Any supporting evidence or documentation

The property manager or designated authority will review the appeal and provide a written response within 14 days.

10. Preventive Measures

To prevent damage, individuals are encouraged to:

  • Follow all usage guidelines and instructions for fixtures, furnishings, equipment, and appliances

  • Report any potential hazards or maintenance issues promptly

11. Amendments

This policy may be amended from time to time. All changes will be communicated to occupants and users of the premises.

12. Acknowledgment

All individuals occupying or using the premises must acknowledge their understanding and acceptance of this damage policy.
