Overall, pet halotherapy is a holistic approach to enhancing your pet's health and well-being, promoting both physical and mental health through the natural benefits of salt.

  • Wearing any type of comfortable clothing is recommended. The salt in the air will not ruin any clothing, it will simply leave light salt particles on clothing (usually noticeable on darker fabric) that can simply be brushed off.

  • The session length is 20 minutes.

  • The frequency of salt therapy sessions for your pet depends on their specific health needs and conditions. Here are some general guidelines:

    Chronic Conditions:

Respiratory Issues (e.g., asthma, bronchitis): For pets with chronic respiratory conditions, it's typically recommended to start with 2-3 sessions per week for the first few weeks. Once improvement is noted, the frequency can often be reduced to 1-2 sessions per week for maintenance.

Skin Conditions (e.g., dermatitis, eczema): Pets with ongoing skin issues may also benefit from 2-3 sessions per week initially, reducing to 1-2 sessions per week as their condition improves.

    Preventative Care and General Wellness:

Boosting Immune System and overall health: For pets without specific health issues but whose owners want to take preventative measures, 1-2 sessions per week can help maintain good respiratory and skin health, as well as overall well-being.

    Acute Issues:

Allergies and Seasonal Issues: During times when your pet is experiencing acute symptoms, such as allergy season, you might increase the frequency to 2-3 times per week. Once the symptoms subside, you can reduce the frequency accordingly.

    Stress and Anxiety:

Behavioral Health: Pets with high levels of stress or anxiety can benefit from weekly sessions. Adjust the frequency based on how well your pet responds to the treatment.

It's essential to monitor your pet’s response to the therapy and adjust the frequency as needed. Consult with your veterinarian to develop a personalized halotherapy plan tailored to your pet's specific health requirements. Regular check-ups will help ensure that the therapy is providing the desired benefits and allow for any necessary adjustments.

  • HUMANS:

Salt therapy is recognized as a safe and effective wellness practice from preventative and restorative health care. It is not a medical treatment and does not offer a cure! Salt therapy is not recommended for people with contagious diseases, fever, open wounds, lung cancer, severe hypertension, mental disorders and active tuberculosis. Pregnant women should consult with their doctor before using salt therapy. Anyone with serious health concerns needs to seek proper medical advice and care.

    PETS:

While pet salt therapy offers numerous benefits, it may not be suitable for all pets. Here are some contraindications to consider before starting salt therapy for your pet:

    Severe Respiratory Conditions:

Pets with severe or unstable respiratory conditions (e.g., severe asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) may experience discomfort or exacerbation of symptoms. Consult a veterinarian before starting salt therapy.

    Cardiovascular Issues:

Pets with significant cardiovascular problems may be at risk, as the increased breathing rate caused by inhaling salt particles can place additional strain on the heart.

    Salt Sensitivity:

Some pets might be sensitive to salt, which could lead to irritation of the respiratory tract or skin. Monitor your pet closely during initial sessions to detect any adverse reactions.

    Pregnant or Nursing Pets:

The effects of salt therapy on pregnant or nursing pets have not been thoroughly studied, so it’s best to consult a veterinarian before proceeding with salt therapy for these pets.

    Infectious Diseases:

Pets with contagious respiratory infections should avoid salt therapy sessions to prevent the spread of the infection to other pets.

    Recent Surgery or Injury:

Pets recovering from surgery or with recent injuries should consult a veterinarian before starting salt therapy to ensure it won't interfere with their recovery.

    Severe Anxiety or Behavioral Issues:

While salt therapy can help reduce stress, pets with severe anxiety or behavioral issues may find the new environment stressful, potentially exacerbating their condition. It’s important to assess how your pet handles new experiences and environments.

Before starting salt therapy, it’s crucial to consult with a veterinarian who understands your pet’s health history and current condition. They can help determine if salt therapy is appropriate and safe for your pet and provide guidance on how to proceed.
